East Anglian Beer & Cider Festival

By kind permission of the Dean & Chapter, the 33rd East Anglian Beer & Cider Festival will be held for the fifth year running in the beautiful St. Edmundsbury Cathedral in Bury St Edmunds!

For six days, St Edmundsbury Cathedral, its cloisters and garth, will host over 250 real ales and craft beers, 60 ciders, food stalls and come alive with a Sound Stage and full entertainment programme.

Wednesday, 20 August, 4.00 pm – 11.00 pm
Thursday, 21 August, 12.00 noon – 11.00 pm
Friday, 22 August, 12.00 noon – 11.30 pm (Cathedral following Last Night of the Proms via South doors.)
Outside Friday 22 August will close at 11.15 pm
Saturday, 23 August, 11.30 am – 11.00 pm
Sunday, 24 August, 12.30 pm – 9.00 pm
Monday, 25 August, 12.00 noon – 6.00 pm

    We look to support local charities and good causes

    In 2023 alone over £24,000 was donated to local good causes including the Cathedral and local charities who supported the festival.

    In the past proceeds from the Beer & Cider Festival have benefited many local and national charities with over £175,000 having been donated. Last year, beneficiaries included St Nicholas Hospice and Women’s Royal Army Corps (WRAC).

    CHALLENGE 25 : If you are fortunate enough to appear under 25 you will be ID checked at the admissions desk and issued with a wristband enabling you to purchase alcohol if 18 and over,  Children (under 16) are admitted accompanied by a responsible Parent and or Guardian free of charge until 21:00 hours. We expect a 1:1 ratio of adults/children. Minors (aged 16 & 17) will be admitted if accompanied by a responsible adult and on payment of the admission charge. Minors will be issued with a RED wristband denoting they will not be served at the bars. In order to avoid the risk of appearing to be drinking illegally minors will NOT be served at Bar Zero. Soft drinks for consumption by children and minors are available for purchase from the festival food vendors.
